bluebarnpink_edited.jpgIn 1993, writer and composer Alisa Bair lost her 8-year-old daughter to brain cancer. In 1998, she wrote a book titled “A Table for Two,” which detailed the heartbreaking but inspiring true story of her youngest daughter’s faith journey from brain tumor diagnosis to her death. The book includes 30 of her daughter’s own journal entries.

In April 2021, Bair published a second book titled “Grief is a Dancer,” a response to the countless grieving people who continually asked her, “Will it ever get better?” In this memoir, Bair proposes that grief is an intuitive, loving, life-long partner in sorrow, not something to “get over.”

For 15 years, Bair has collaborated with HurleyInMotion on grief events to deliver a program that helps people grieve through word, music, and dance.
