GRIEF IS A DANCER

After the loss of her 8-year-old daughter to brain cancer in 1993, Alisa Bair turned to writing as she grieved. She published two books: “A Table for Two” in 1998 and “Grief is A Dancer” in 2021. These books document her experiences with grief and propose that grief is an intuitive, loving, life-long partner in sorrow, not something to “get over.”
For 15 years, Bair has collaborated with HurleyInMotion on grief events to deliver a program that helps people grieve through word, music, and dance. HurleyinMotion is a performing arts ensemble that has been building bridges and connecting communities since 2005. Choreographer Gregg Hurley is an Associate Professor of Dance at Messiah University and performs alongside his wife, Susan, an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Messiah University.

Each attendee will receive a complimentary copy of the book “Grief is a Dancer.” There will be a book signing following the one-hour program.
