St. Luke’s Older Adult Behavioral Health Units offer comprehensive, personalized treatment for older adults 55+ who are experiencing significant mental distress and more serious psychiatric events, These units are located at:
- St. Luke’s Quakertown Campus
- St. Luke’s Sacred Heart Campus
- St. Luke’s Lehighton Campus
Our compassionate interdisciplinary treatment team consists of experienced mental health professionals including a psychiatrist with special training in geriatric clients, nurses, case managers, mental health technicians, case managers, and activity therapists. Within a supportive, structured environment, the team provides individualized care based on each individuals’ unique needs. Our team collaborates with other St. Luke’s medical team members as needed throughout treatment. From assessment to individual, group, and family therapy to discharge planning and aftercare, our goal is to help individuals transition back to their daily life through outpatient support and connections to community resources.
Symptoms
Changes in behavior, mood, or routine may be an indicator that a psychiatric condition is present. Some (but not all) of the symptoms that we treat are:
Confused thinking | Delusions or hallucinations |

Excessive fears, worries, and anxieties | Denial of obvious problems |

Admission Criteria
- Experiencing increased agitation/aggression
- Acute behavior changes including depression, anxiety, hallucinations, delusions, appetite, and sleep disturbances
- Thoughts of suicide or self-harm
