Thomas J. Tantillo, MSW, MBA, Assumes Role of Executive Director of Drug and Alcohol Services

"This position will give me the opportunity to make an impact on individuals and families who have been challenged by addiction to drugs and alcohol by continuing and expanding upon the good work of the Recovery Center," says Tantillo. "My vision is to expand access to care; work with the community, schools, and other health care providers on early identification and referral for services; and offer individualized care through a broad array of services."

Tantillo has been an executive in various not-for-profit, academic, and healthcare organizations for 30 years. Most recently, he served as the Administrator for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry ans Behavioral Sciences at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. In this role, he was responsible for the clinical, research, and teaching activities of the Department, which is affiliated with the Medical School of the University of Pennsylvania and included a staff of over 200 psychiatrists, psychologists, and support personnel. Tantillo is also an adjunct faculty of the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice, where he is in his 15th year.

Earlier in his career, Tantillo served as Senior Vice President for Managed Care at Northwestern Human Services (Lafayette HIll, PA), Executive Director of First Graduate Behavioral Health Care, Inc. (Ambler, PA), and DIrector of Social Services at both Doylestown Hospital and Montgomery County Emergency Mental Health/Mental Retardation Services.

Tantillo holds a Bachelor's Degree from Villanova University, a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from LaSalle University. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Psychiatric Health Systems (having served as President from 2004-2008) and is a recent member of the Board of NAMI Bucks County. He has previously served as Treasurer for Administrators in Academic Psychiatry and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Bucks County Drug and Alcohol Commission.

Tantillo and his family reside in Doylestown.
