Penn Foundation Now Providing Intellectual Disabilities Supports Coordination in Montgomery County

Penn Foundation is now providing Intellectual Disabilities (ID) Supports Coordination in Montgomery County. ID Supports Coordination serves individuals ages 3 and older with an IQ of 70 or below prior to age 22. The program helps to locate, coordinate, and monitor services with the goal of enhancing the quality of life of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The agency has been providing these services in Bucks County since 1992.

“Montgomery County approached us and other Supports Coordination providers in the fall of 2012 about providing intellectual disability services because it was no longer going to provide them as of March 2013,” explains Deborah Stevenson, Director of ID Supports Coordination at Penn Foundation. “Families had the opportunity to choose from 12 providers, and more than 200 families chose Penn Foundation.”

Penn Foundation hired five additional Supports Coordinators to handle the additional families. The ID Supports Coordination program currently supports over 500 families in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. To learn more, contact the ID Supports Coordination office at 215.257.1183.
