Penn Foundation Has Partnered with the Palisades School District and St. Luke’s University Health Network to Offer Substance Abuse Prevention Presentation

Penn Foundation, Palisades School District, and St. Luke's University Health Network have partnered to offer a presentation that addresses the growing concern surrounding substance abuse in the community.

The presentation will take place on Monday, February 1st at 7:00 pm at Palisades High School (35 Church Hill Road, Kintersville). The event is free and open to the public. 

The discussion will focus on awareness, prevention, intervention, and education. Dr. Keith Baker, Emergency Medicine Resident at St. Luke’s University Health Network, will speak about synthetic and designer drugs, including signs and symptoms of someone who is under the influence as well as prevention strategies. Gordon Hornig, MSW, LSW, Coordinator of Penn Foundation’s Mobile Engagement Services, will speak about underage drinking and the abuse of prescription painkillers and heroin.
