Penn Foundation Celebrates Tom Leidy’s 16 Years of Service as Board Chair

After 16 years as Chair of Penn Foundation’s Board of Directors and 26 years on the Board, Tom Leidy has transitioned that leadership role to Margaret Zook. Leidy, who joined the Board in 1985, will be succeeded as chair by Zook, who has served on the Board since 1997 and as Vice Chair since 2004. Leidy will remain on the Board as Vice Chair.

“It has been rewarding to work with such quality, dedicated people who understand the need for behavioral health services and who work diligently every day to provide those services,” says Leidy. “It’s been gratifying to see founder Dr. Norman Loux’s vision flourish as Penn Foundation continues to grow.”

“Tom is a visionary leader, who has been a true champion of Penn Foundation’s mission,” says Wayne Mugrauer, President and CEO of Penn Foundation. “His leadership ensures excellent programs for those Penn Foundation serves, and affirms our staff as they provide that care. Tom couples his incredible business acumen with his compassionate care for those Penn Foundation serves, which is a combination that is unsurpassed.”

For more than 30 years, Leidy worked as President and Chief Executive Officer of his family’s pork business, Leidy’s Inc., in Souderton. He is now retired but serves on the Board of Directors of All Holding Company (Leidy’s Inc.). He previously served on the Boards of Directors of Univest and Life Path and as an Elder and Deacon at Immanuel Leidy’s Church in Souderton. He currently serves as a District Chair for the General Nash District (Cradle of Liberty Council) of the Boy Scouts of America and was honored at its annual dinner in May.

Zook is employed as Life Transitions Coordinator at Sanford Alderfer Companies. Prior to that, she retired after serving as the Executive Director of Souderton Mennonite Homes. She has served on the Boards of the Indian Valley Library and the Mennonite Homes Association.
