Meghan Schrag, MSW, Promoted to Director of Family Based Services

Meghan Schrag, MSW, has been promoted to Director of Family Based Services. She takes over for Cheryl Guy, who retired after nine years as Family Based Director and 13 years at Penn Foundation. In her new role, Schrag will be responsible for the management and quality assurance of the Family Based program.

“Meghan brings many years of experience as a Family-Based clinician to her position as Director of Family-Based Services,” says Karen Kern, Executive Director of Mental Health Outpatient Services. “She has demonstrated a deep commitment and passion for helping families develop healthy problem-solving skills; positive communications; and community connections.  Meghan will work closely with others on Penn Foundation’s continuum of services for children and adolescents to coordinate quality care for families. “

“My vision for Family Based Services is to provide excellent, strengths-based care to the identified child and his/her family system; offer support to each member to enhance the functioning of the family as a whole unit; and create space for families to recognize their own resiliency and find pathways to enhance their lives,” explains Schrag.

Schrag has worked in the Family Based program as a Mental Health Professional since 2007, having previously worked in Wrap Around from 2002-2005 and 1995-1999. She earned her graduate degree in Social Work from Temple University and her undergraduate degree in Social Work from Goshen College.
