IT Support Technician (Entry Level)

Position Overview

Under direction of the IT Administrator, the IT Support Technician is responsible for end-user support, routine repairs, and infrastructure support.

Hours:  Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

End-User Support

  • Respond to help desk tickets
  • Provide training on the use of PC's, other related hardware and software to maximize efficiency and productivity
  • Configure networks, e-mail and other accounts

Routine Repairs and Maintenance

  •  Diagnose, repair and document problems with PC's, other related hardware and software
  •  Complete routine maintenance on PC's and other related hardware
  •  Install and configure new PC's and other related hardware

Infrastructure Support

  • Maintain documentation
  • Work with IT staff, maintenance department, consultants, and vendors to maintain Ethernet, fiber and wireless networks at several sites

Education/Skills/Abilities/Other Requirement

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Networking experience LAN/WAN
  • General proficiency with PC hardware, software, and the Internet.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technicial information in a manner that is easily understood by end-users
  • Ability to patiently listen to and act upon the complaints, concerns, desires, needs, and wants of staff regarding information technology
  • A Pennsylvania Criminal Record Check, a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance and a FBI Criminal History Background Check.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to regularly lift 25 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to push or pull up to 80 pounds
  • Ability to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch behind and under desks, crawl, reach with hands and arms, and reach above the shoulder.
  • Good visual acuity
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license to drive between sites
