SUMMARY:Grief is a Dancer
DESCRIPTION:Grief is a Dancer\nPresented in word\, music\, and dance by\nGregg and Susan Hurley of HurleyInMotion and author Alisa Bair   \nJoin us for a community-wide event that brings us together to acknowledge\nthe pain and loss we’re all experiencing through this difficult time. \n\nAfter the loss of her 8-year-old daughter to brain cancer in 1993\, Alisa Bair turned to writing as she grieved. She published two books: “A Table for Two” in 1998 and “Grief is A Dancer” in 2021. These books document her experiences with grief and propose that grief is an intuitive\, loving\, life-long partner in sorrow\, not something to “get over.” \nFor 15 years\, Bair has collaborated with HurleyInMotion on grief events to deliver a program that helps people grieve through word\, music\, and dance. HurleyinMotion is a performing arts ensemble that has been building bridges and connecting communities since 2005. Choreographer Gregg Hurley is an Associate Professor of Dance at Messiah University and performs alongside his wife\, Susan\, an Adjunct Professor of Voice at Messiah University. \n \nClick here for a video about the Grief is a Dancer program. \n\nAdditional Event Details \nEach attendee will receive a complimentary copy of Bair’s book “Grief is a Dancer.” There will be a book signing following the one-hour program. \nTo ensure the health and safety of all attendees\, advanced registration is required. Please reserve your seat by December 1st by clicking the “Going” button below. We’re taking the following COVID safety steps: \n\nAll attendees are required to wear a mask.\nAttendees will be seated according to social distancing guidelines and based on individual/group registration.\nAttendance will be limited to 50% of venue capacity.\n\nThis event is generously made possible by:   \n
