DESCRIPTION:Medication Update: Overview of Medical Marijuana \nWednesday\, September 19\, 2018 | 8:30 – 10:30 am \nAbout the Course \nThis course provides information about new behavioral health medication developments over the past year. In the past year\, the use of medical marijuana in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was legalized. Participants will gain an understanding of the medical marijuana law and its intention. The presenter provides information about how medical marijuana became part of medical treatment and an overview of how medical marijuana works. \n  \nCourse Objectives \n\nParticipants will become familiar with new medication developments\nParticipants will learn about marijuana and its journey to medical treatment\nParticipants will be able to summarize how medical marijuana works\nParticipants will gain an understanding of the medical marijuana law and its intention\n\n  \nTarget Audience \nTarget audience includes social workers\, professional counselors\, marriage and family therapists\, recovery coaches\, peer specialists\, nurses\, nurse practitioners\, psychiatrists\, and substance abuse counselors for this intermediate level of instruction. \n  \nCEs \n\n2.0 PCB Approved Education Credits\n2.0 Continuing Education Credits for Licensed Social workers\, Licensed Professional Counselors\, and Licensed Marriage and Family therapists\n2.0 Continuing Education Credits for Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN)\n\n  \nThere is no conflict of interest or commercial support for this program. \n  \nAll attendees must arrive promptly at the beginning of the training and remain the duration of the training to receive continuing education credits.
