Join us for our first ever Recovery is for Everyone Walk: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community in celebration of National Recovery Month.

Recovery Month is a national observance to increase awareness and understanding of mental and substance use disorders and to celebrate the people who recover. It also serves to reduce the stigma and misconceptions that cloud public understanding of these diseases, potentially discouraging people from seeking help.

The 1.7-mile walk will begin and end at the Hope 22 Festival site (741 N. County Line Road, Souderton). This walk is an approved Get Your Tail on the Trail event.

Bucks County Commissioner Robert J. Harvie Jr. and Montgomery County Commissioner Dr. Valerie Arkoosh will both provide comments at the start of the walk.

Walkers will have the opportunity to “Walk with a Doc” with Nina Drinnan, MSN, CRNP, St. Luke’s Nurse Practitioner, to learn more about substance use disorder and recovery, including signs and symptoms, how to access treatment, how to support a loved one in recovery, and more. Drinnan has more than 30 years of experience in nursing, the last 10 of which have been as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner at St. Luke’s Penn Foundation. She is Board-certified in Adult Health and as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. Drinnan has extensive experience working with both individuals living with mental health issues and individuals living with substance use disorder.

Following the walk, enjoy free food, music, kids’ activities, giveaways, and more at Hope Festival 22, sponsored by Sweatshirt of Hope.

Check-in for the walk will begin at 8:15 am.
