Early Intervention Services
Penn Foundation provides early intervention services for children from birth to 3 years of age who reside in the Upper Bucks County area. Early intervention in Pennsylvania is defined as services and supports designed to help families with children with special needs. Early intervention builds upon the natural learning occurring in those first few years.
Eligibility
- Birth to 3 years old
- Residence in Upper Bucks County
- 25% delay in one or more areas of development
- Physical disability such as hearing or vision loss
- Specialist's determination that there is a delay even though it does not show up on the assessment (called informal clinical opinion)
- Known physical or mental conditions which have a high probability for developmental delays
Process
- Initial interview (screening)
- Evaluation (during the evaluation you and other members of the team will talk about the good things your child is doing during the day as well as identify concerns)
- Development of written plan detailing the early intervention services or supports your child will receive (IFSP-Individualized Family Service Plan); the IFSP is in response to your individual family's concerns, strengths, and priorities for your child
- Locating, coordinating, and monitoring services
