Co-occurring Disorders

The goal of our Village of Hope, or co-occurring disorders residential facilities, is to provide a supportive and informative environment for those who voluntarily wish to recover from substance abuse and mental health problems. It is designed to provide assistance in gaining skills necessary for the successful re-entry into the mainstream of life.

Our program is based in two houses, one which serves 8 males and one which serves 8 females. The residents of the houses have access to the services offered on the Penn Foundation campus. After the resident has completed stabilization treatment, work, education, and volunteering become priorities. Program staff will transport residents to places of employment within a certain radius.

We offer 24 hour, 7 days-a-week coverage. The average length of stay is 6 months although residents may stay up to 2 years.

Our staff assists residents with:

  • Medication management
  • Shopping
  • Cooking skills
  • Cleaning

Residents are encouraged to learn ways to constructively use personal time such as hobbies or participating in exercise and sports activities.

A computer, exercise equipment, an outdoor pool (seasonal) and optional outings (i.e. baseball games, movies, hiking, fishing, etc.) are available to residents.
