Assertive Community Treatment

One of our two new programs, the Assertive Community Treatment provides community-based psychiatric treatment, outreach, rehabilitation, and support to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness who may have co-occurring problems and who may have had multiple psychiatric and substance abuse hospitalizations. This program aims to fulfill needs and achieve goals that have not been met through traditional office-based treatment and rehabilitation services.

The Assertive Community Treatment endorses the concept that recovery is building a self that is not illness dominated and that recovery is an integrated and comprehensive process. We recognize that work and education foster purpose and accomplishment which, in turn, create connections to the community. We also realize that medication can be a powerful tool when informed individuals join with physicians to choose treatments that will effectively maximize functioning.
